Services
At Nexus Crane Counselling, the relationship we build together is at the heart of the work. I believe change happens in safe, trusting connection, so I focus on creating a warm, collaborative space where you and your child feel seen, heard, and respected. Within that relationship, I offer play therapy for kids, parent–child relationship counselling, individual counselling for adults, EMDR, Safe and Sound Protocol, and walk-and-talk therapy. Together, we discover what services best fit your needs and goals, while centring the work in building trust, connection and a sense of empowerment and resilience.
Nexus Crane Counselling primarily offers support for:
Children, ages 4 and up
Parent-child relationships with an attachment focus
Individual counselling (youth and adults)

Play-based approaches in Calgary
Supporting Children (4+)
Children make sense of their world through play. Using play-based techniques into our sessions to help children feel safe, understood, and engaged. Play therapy gives children a safe and supportive space to express themselves through play when words are hard to find.
Using tools like drawing, storytelling, imaginative play, and games, we create a space where your child can express themselves in ways that feel natural and comfortable. These approaches support emotional regulation, build connection, and gently explore the challenges your child may be facing. You can trust that your child’s wellbeing is always at the center of our work—guided by curiosity, compassion, and respect for your family's unique story.
Parent-child counselling in Calgary
Strengthening security in parent-child relationships through attachment-based therapy.
Sometimes family life feels overwhelming, and patterns get stuck. Parent–child counselling gives you and your child a safe place to work on your relationship together. The focus is building connection first and helping both nervous systems feel safe. Practicing repair for those inevitable bumps (big feelings, meltdowns, disconnections) moves us towards the change we want to see. When connection is steady and repairs are routine, behaviour softens and skills start to stick. How we are together is the work.
Individual counselling in Calgary
My intentions are to bring openness and curiosity into our sessions together. I want to honour each person’s unique story, and approach challenges with genuine interest and respect. I want to walk alongside you—exploring your experiences together with empathy and care.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) in Calgary
What is EMDR?
When painful memories from the past still affect daily life, it can feel like you’re reliving them again and again. EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain “digest” those memories so they feel less overwhelming over time. This means that traumatic memories living in our brains and bodies are less triggered in everyday scenarios, which improves our relationships to others and towards our self. With support, you can move forward with less fear and more freedom—improving how you feel about yourself and how you connect with others.
Listening Therapy in Calgary
(Coming Soon)
What is Listening Therapy?
Sometimes our bodies stay stuck in “high alert,” making it hard to relax or connect with others. Nexus Crane Counselling offers Safe and Sound Protocol, which is a gentle listening program that uses specially filtered music to gently calm the nervous system and promote a sense of safety. It has the potential to stress, ease sensitivity to sound, and help people feel more connected to those around them. Safe and Sound Protocol can be used alone or in combination with another type of therapy.
Walk and Talk Therapy in Calgary
What is Walk and Talk Therapy?
Healing doesn’t have to happen in an office. Walk-and-talk therapy takes our sessions outdoors, where gentle movement and fresh air can make it easier to open up. Walking side by side during therapy can help reduce stress, boost mood, and create a calm, natural setting to talk about hard topics. Some clients even bring their dog for extra comfort and support.
Moving while you talk can help:
Reduce stress and anxiety
Make it easier to open up
Boost mood and energy
Create a more relaxed atmosphere
Promotes mindfulness and grounding
It’s a simple way to support your mental health sessions while enjoying fresh air and the calming benefits of nature.
Sessions take place at the following outdoor Calgary locations: Confederation Park at 905 30 Avenue NW and Nose Hill Park at 6465 14 St NW.
Hours available will vary, please reach out for scheduling.
Virtual Therapy
We offer secure, flexible online sessions for older teens and adults. Whether you’re at home, at school or on the go, virtual therapy makes support more accessible.
